Canon is reacting to the pressing need for networking skills within its printer channel with new training initiatives, the first of which was carried out in Dubai last month.

The company rounded up its channel partners from around the region, and prepared what it described as an ‘in-depth’ technical agenda for them to complete.

“As part of the technical team in Egypt, I am exposed daily to customer needs that go beyond simple technical problems. We are continuously asked to suggest imaging solutions, especially now that companies are becoming internally networked and require to have imaging peripherals that support these environments,” said Ayman Samir, an Egyptian channel partner for Canon.

The course offered resellers’ technical staff access to Canon black and white digital input and output products, and gave attendees exposure and in-depth technology and product knowledge needed to respond to the most demanding office environment, according to Canon.

“Our technical training focused on Canon’s solutions, responds to the advanced actual and future requirements of networked necessities,” said Matt Chivers, technical co-ordinator, Canon Middle East.

“Transferring Canon’s technology know-how to our key partners reinforces Canon as a solutions provider for business environments,” he added.
