Lufthansa has created the basis for Internet communications from an aircraft cabin. Three Airbus A320s operated by Condor Berlin are already equipped with the technology that will enable passengers to send e-mails from their seat.

The aircraft are fitted with a wireless local area network. Ground stations at Berlin-Schönefeld and Palma de Mallorca will transmit the messages to the Internet before or after the flight.

Lufthansa aims to equip all its aircraft with the technology for online communications and is currently discussing the options with providers and manufacturers.
