Phishing around

Dear Editor,

It is disappointing, but not all that surprising, to learn that phishing attacks are now coming from within the Middle East. I suppose it was only a matter of time before this began to happen.

However, I would like to knowmore about the attacks that are being carried out as a result of foreign criminals enlisting the help of Arabic speakers in order to localise the attacks. The Symantec security consultant stated that more and more criminal gangs were enlisting the help of Arab speakers, but it was unclear whether that was why the attacks were coming from within the region, or whether these Arabic attacks originated outside the region and were in addition to the local attempts. Are attacks being planned and executed from inside the Middle East? I would be keen to learn more.
