Veteran spoon bender Uri Geller is the recipient of this issue’s GOTW award, though you would have thought with his special ‘powers’ he’d have seen it coming.

Uri and his partners had successfully bid on popular auction site eBay for a ho- me in Memphis, US, that its current owners said used to belong to rock ‘n’ roll singer Elvis Presley, reported online newswire The Register.

The owners, Cindy Hazen and Mike Freeman, agreed on a price of US$905,100, and that would have been the end of the tale. Except the owners then went ahead and sold it to Nashville record producer Mike Curb for US$1million before the contracts had been exchanged.

Understandably irate, Uri Geller and his chums have sued to halt the sale. So far all is above board, but just to be on the safe side we recommend Mr Curbs and his family start using plastic cutlery. Just in case, you understand.
