Companies applying for worker visas in Saudi Arabia can now save time and money since Oracle technology was deployed by a local integrator to automate the process.

The enterprise software giant has signed a deal with the Al-Elm Information Security Company to integrate Oracle E-Business Suite's human resources (HR) module with Al-Elm's Muqeem Service.

This is an online service used by private sector HR departments to apply for and track the status of foreign expatriate workers' working visas or passport status. Previously this worked through an online web portal, which required firms to manually process requests.

This process will however be automated through the integration between the Muqeem Service and Oracle's HR application, which will connect companies' HR systems electronically to the Directorate General for Passports.

This will enable companies to access the department's register to find information on their employees and they will be able to receive instant notifications of any record updates executed at the department. They can also issue electronic exit/entrance visas using the service.
