Emirates Identity Authority (EIDA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Microsoft aimed at improving means of cooperation between the organisations.

The agreement was signed at the Microsoft booth during Gitex 2006 last month. The MoU aims at enhancing future cooperation in information exchange policies and strategies, as well as technical cooperation, skills development programs and security infrastructure.

In addition, it provides for Microsoft consulting services to cover licensing, primary application solutions and first level support services.

“Signing the MoU with Microsoft is part of EIDA’s strategy to strengthen cooperation with leading IT companies on a worldwide basis,” said Darwish Ahmad Al Zaraouni, director general of the EIDA.
