MTC Group has signed a global agreement with Siemens Communications that will give the regional telecoms firm the same pricing arrangement regardless of where it is operating in the world.

The global frame agreement entails best practice terms and conditions, financial terms and conditions, the consolidated price agreement and is valid for MTC Group and all its affiliates.

Jan Cron, vice president of Siemens Communications mobile networks Middle East, described the deal as a “landmark achievement” that reinforced the firm’s commitment to the region.

Siemens would not specify the price of the deal with MTC, but Ahmad Othman, Siemens mobile networks global account manager, said it would be a “significant improvement” on the current price.

“Everywhere they go, whether its Africa, the US or the Middle East, the same terms and conditions will apply. It is a consolidation so there is a volume based benefit there that will also reflect on the pricing irrespective of if it is a small operation or a large operation,” Othman told IT Weekly.

“This is the first global player for Siemens in the Middle East. We are extremely proud and happy about this achievement. MTC is certainly viewed by Siemens as a major player in the telecommunications industry,” he went on to add.
