Enterprise and mobile solutions provider Sybase Products Middle East announced the regional launch of Sybase iAnywhere’s OneBridge 5.5 solution for secure mobile e-mail and applications and Afaria 5.5 management and security solution.

The products, which were unveiled at Gitex last week, were described by the company as the most secure end-to-end e-mail messaging solution currently available.

Speaking on the launch, Hisham Malak, channel and marketing manager at Sybase Products Middle East, said,

“Gitex, being the largest IT exhibition in the Middle East, was the perfect platform to launch our new products OneBridge 5.5 and Afaria 5.5 in the Middle East. Interoperability between OneBridge 5.5 and Afaria 5.5 will enable us to deliver the most secure, end-to-end e-mail messaging solution on the market today.”

He went on to say that the latest version of OneBridge was more secure than previously, with the ability to take advantage of Afaria features such as device-side and server-side security in addition to on-the-fly encryption and decryption.

OneBridge 5.5 extends enterprise e-mail and applications to mobile workers and is able to support 130 mobile devices.

It will provide users with enhanced usability with features such as live access to corporate e-mail and phone directories and compatibility with the latest mobile devices.

Afaria 5.5 is the next generation of Sybase’s management and security solution. The new version includes new capabilities to initially provision devices over wireless networks, expan- ded device security functionality and remote control for Windows Mobile devices and expanded patch management.

“Mobile devices are evolving at a very fast pace and are becoming more and more prevalent in the enterprise. Afaria 5.5 helps companies take advantage of the latest device technology while ensuring that these new devices are well-managed and that the data is always secure,” Malak added.

The firm also demonstrated its latest enterprise and mobility solutions at Gitex including latest releases such as PowerBuilder and PowerDesigner, and offerings such as push e-mail and mobile device management as well as internet banking solutions.
