Etisalat is increasing the level of network services it provides to business customers after expanding its partnership with Orange Business Services.

Under the terms of the new agreement, the pair will combine forces to further develop secure and scaleable IP VPN solutions.

These managed carrier-class, MPLS-based network services will enable Etisalat to deliver a network service to customers over the Orange Business Services network. The advanced IP VPN offerings will be made available to business customers through the global network services available in 148 countries.

Dr. Sadik Al-Jadir, senior manager marketing business at Etisalat, believes the announcement will be a big hit with enterprises across the UAE. “We are committed to providing reliable services that are dynamic enough for customers to meet changes in their business,” he says. “The new agreement will allow them to transport different applications with the quality of service that each application needs. With the phenomenal growth of businesses in the UAE, companies are extending their coverage and their presence within the local market and outside. For that they need global connectivity. Being a regional player, Etisalat relies on partnerships with major telecom service providers such as Orange to extend its coverage and global reach.”

Etisalat claims the extension of its alliance with Orange also illustrates its strong customer-focused approach to providing voice and data solutions.

Ahmed Abdulkarim Julfar, COO at Etisalat, says the launch of the international IP VPN service will enable businesses to increase their productivity and calls it a “viable investment” for an organisation of any size.

“Etisalat understands the need of businesses to communicate between their locations and co-ordinate their operations, and has worked closely with market leaders to ensure a solution that addresses these needs in the most effective way,” he says.

Ahmed Hamzawy, regional manager Middle East and North Africa, adds: “This agreement comes as a result of a very good effort working relationship and joint effort between the two companies. As a long standing partner of Etisalat and with the world’s largest VPN, Orange Business Services is ideally placed to deliver this additional connectivity for Etisalat and its customers.”

Etisalat and France Telecom-owned Orange Business Services — which operate as preferred partners — have been working together for the past six years.
