Online search giant Google has launched a customised service, allowing people to carry out tailored searches.

The service enables users to choose which pages they want to include in their index, how the content should be prioritised, whether others can contribute to their index, and what the search results will look like.

Users can restrict their search results to include only the sites they have selected or give these higher ranking within a larger Google index.
