Intel rolls out new initiative for global software partners

Chip manufacturer reveals plans to increase relationships with independent software vendors by launching a dedicated partner scheme stacked with commercial features

Chip giant Intel has set up a formal software partner programme to boost its relationship with independent software vendors (ISVs) across the globe.

The scheme is open to any software company developing commercial products or services for Intel-based technologies.

The new partner scheme offers a portfolio of planning, technical, marketing and sales resources that Intel claims will facilitate a partner’s ability to grow its business, reach new customers and stay on top of the latest competitive trends.

“Innovation requires the software and hardware communities to work together to deliver value for their customers,” said Renee James, corporate VP and general manager at Intel’s software and solutions group.

“The Intel software partner programme represents a further step by Intel to invest and foster innovation with the software community on Intel platforms.

By providing ISVs of all sizes and in all regions the opportunity to access task-specific tools to plan, enable and promote their solution on an Intel platform, we accelerate the adoption of innovative solutions that drive further benefits and opportunities for customers,” said James.

ISVs have welcomed the move by Intel to launch a dedicated software partner programme.

Julie Parrish, VP Symantec global channel office, said: “Being a member of the Intel software partner programme offers us a valuable opportunity to sell our consumer and small business products to Intel’s reseller and VAR community via a variety of channel and go-to-market programmes.”

Benefits available to members of the new programme include planning tools and technical resources such as application engineering services and developer resource kits.
