Hardware giant Dell has confirmed that it is expanding its Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) manufacturing operation by building a new facility in Poland.
Scheduled to open in 2007, the new facility is expected to employ around 1,000 staff.

Paul Bell, senior VP at Dell EMEA, said: “Proximity to a large base of Dell customers, the significant opportunity for growth comprised by the Central and Eastern European economies, and the availability of a well-educated Polish workforce were key factors in our decision.”

The new facility has the potential to alter Dell’s Middle East supply chain.

Local management claim that the new Polish facility — in addition to the existing EMEA plant in Limerick, Ireland — will offer another sourcing option.
