Dell to recruit 500

Dell is recruiting 500 technical support professionals and creating additional training programmes for its 1,000-person customer contact centre in the Canadian city.

The centre’s staff plans are part of a US$150million investment this fiscal year to improve customer experience, and the added responsibility to support Dell’s latest high-performance XPS computers.

“We’re providing direct-to-customer technical support for a growing number of Dell customers around the world who have increasingly complex issues,” said Michael Jaillet, Ottawa site director.

“To meet our goal to resolve every customer issue in one contact, we’re elevating our skills; locally, this means additional career training and hiring agents with advanced hardware and networking skills, and operating system certification.”
