Dubai-based secure document and “smart” solutions vendor Amricon has ramped up its coverage of the Middle East market with the appointment of two new local partners.

In Saudi Arabia, Medunet has been awarded distribution rights for Amricon’s products — which include RFID and verification technologies — while the Kuwaiti Digital Computer Company (KDCC) has been signed up in Kuwait.

Mohamad Jarrar, managing director at Amricon, said: “Our strategy for Saudi Arabia and Kuwait is to work with wellestablished channel partners in these countries to fully address the market potential.”

Medunet focuses on offering specialised telecommunications and IT services to the Saudi health and educational sector, while KDCC in Kuwait is regarded as a strong networking and information systems player in the government and private sector.

Jarrar added: “An increasing number of organisations in the private and public sector in the region are realising the benefits of adopting smart solutions to streamline operations and to prevent fraud.”

He added: “Amricon has been making significant inroads into markets across the Middle East with its range of innovative solutions and we are confident that our new channel partners in Saudi and Kuwait will help us further consolidate the presence of our smart solutions in these markets.”

The expansion comes less than four months after Amricon boosted its Saudi presence by partnering with solutions provider NTC.
