Foxconn pledges Iran investment

Motherboard vendor Foxconn is looking to strengthen its reputation in the Iranian market by holding dedicated seminars aimed at government representatives and private sector companies.

Vadim Lisenko, marketing executive at Foxconn MEA, says the events will take place during November and demonstrate the breadth of the company’s portfolio, including its motherboard, chassis and VGA card range.

“We are expecting more than 300 people to attend each event,” he revealed.

“So far there has been a really good response to the event, and Foxconn’s worldwide general manager Vincent Yuan will also be there.

We have done this sort of seminar before but the content hasn’t been so heavy or so focused,” added Lisenko.

The push for more visibility in the Iran market accompanies the recent signing of local wholesaler Pishtazane as an incountry distribution partner for its branded products.

Lisenko claims that deal is already reaping rewards since being initiated in September.

“It is a local company which understands the market, not a company that is located in Dubai and happens to work in the country,” he said.

Foxconn believes it currently has around 16% share of the motherboad market in Iran.
