CELLUCOM HAS been appointed the authorised distributor and retailer of Samsung’s mobile handset range in Oman.

Dubai-based Cellucom has emerged as one of the Middle East mobile handset industry’s leading distributors and retailers, boasting a strong retail presence in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait and Oman.

The company recently announced plans to establish a total of 20 new stores in Bahrain, Oman, the UAE and Kuwait over the next three months.

“Cellucom, a power retailer in its own right, has earned a solid reputation in the GCC market for its good working relations with other retailers,” said Steve Han, general manager, Mobile Division, Samsung Gulf Electronics.

“Moreover, its approach to distribution and sales support to its growing network has led to the establishment of a strong GCC-wide dealer network. We are confident that Cellucom’s appointment as a distributor for us in Oman will increase both our visibility and market share.”

Cellucom COO Mukkul Shyam claimed that the company’s pan- GCC presence provided it with a competitive advantage over its rivals in the Middle East.

“What sets us apart as a distributor and retailer is our wide distribution and retail network and knowledgeable sales teams,” he said.

“We are delighted to have secured this deal with Samsung Mobile.”

The Samsung deal expands Cellucom’s portfolio of mobile handset and accessories brands, which currently includes Nokia, Sony Ericsson and i-mate.
