Networking vendor Cisco has appointed a new regional channel sales manager for its Gulf operation as part of a wider management reshuffle at the company.

Adrian Taylor — a six-year Cisco veteran who joins from the vendor’s European SP team — will handle all Gulf channel operations and drive the company’s partner engagement model in the region.

Taylor takes over from Tarek Ghoul, who has been handed the task of running Cisco’s operations in Bahrain and Kuwait.

In addition, regional commercial manager Wayne Hull has become country manager for Qatar and Oman, while Dr. Marwan Al Ahamdi heads the UAE.

All four will report directly to Cisco’s general manager for the Gulf region, Samer Alkharrat.

The appointment of Taylor is particularly notable given his extensive experience in the European networking channel where he was a key figure in driving channel and infrastructure franchises across a number of strategic accounts.

As regional sales manager in the European SP team, he led a team of employees supporting all aspects of the AT&T and Verizon business in Europe.

Prior to that, Taylor worked for networking rival 3Com and a Cisco enterprise reseller in the UK.
