AMD has signed a deal with China’s second largest PC maker Founder Technology to supply it with microprocessors.

The agreement is the latest victory for the world’s number two chipmaker over its larger rival Intel, both of which have been making a big push into China — the second largest PC market in the world.

AMD and Founder expect to launch AMD64 processor-based desktop PCs throughout China early this month.

The sales agreement will begin with desktop systems and expand to cover both the notebook and the server markets in the near future.

“As a premier technology brand in China, Founder Technology shares AMD’s passion for delivering exceptional innovation to its customers,” said Karen Guo, AMD corporate vice president and president of AMD Greater China.
