Nominations are now open for the inaugural ACN Arab Technology Awards, to be held during GITEX Dubai in September this year.

The Awards will honour the best in the Middle East's enterprise IT sector, focusing on the projects which have delivered real business value to organisations around the region.

The 14 categories include a number of vertical-specific awards, which will recognise the best implementations across key industries in the Middle East. Vertical categories include awards for the best implementation in energy and utilities, healthcare, banking and finance, and telecoms.

The Awards will also pay tribute to the best IT professionals in the region, with awards for CIO of the year and IT department of the year. Top performing vendors and service providers will be recognised as well.

Full details are available at the Awards website: www.itp.net/arabtechawards. Nominations will close on 12 July.

Once nominations close, the judging panel will assess the entries against a set of rigorous criteria before deciding on the winners ahead of September's ceremony. The judging panel will consist of independent IT and business professionals and analysts.

The awards ceremony will be held at the Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai on 9 September.
