Security vendor Fortinet has unveiled Bashar Bashaireh as its Middle East regional manager. The vendor is pinning its hopes on Bashaireh broadening its network of value added partners and increasing its share of the market.

"We have seen phenomenal growth in the Middle East in the past year thanks to the work achieved by our partners, who have done an excellent job in providing support to our customers in the region," said Patrice Perche, sales VP for South of Europe, Middle East and India at the UTM specialist. "It is now time to take Fortinet to the next level of development in the Middle East, and, therefore, having dedicated resources there is important," he added.

Bashaireh harbours plans for local representation in Saudi Arabia, and will be expanding and implementing global channel programmes in the region to enhance Fortinet's partner network and meet the growing demand in the Middle East.

Bashaireh said: "The increased awareness amongst enterprises in the region of the current security challenges and the need to protect their infrastructure against malicious threats and attacks represents a strong business opportunity for Fortinet."

Bashaireh has spent over 15 years in the Middle East IT market. He previously held the positions of regional sales manager at 3Com Middle East and regional manager MENA at CyberGuard.
