Pro Technology has extended its geographic reach by opening an office in Tripoli. The move signals its entrance into the Libyan market, where it will offer consumers and enterprises access to a number of leading brands.

The UAE-based integrator plans to stock Apple products, Dicota mobile computing kit and HP printing equipment in its retail showroom, as well as a bevy of technology solutions designed for corporate customers.

This will include wireless networking, data storage, content management and security products from vendors such as Storageflex, Symantec and Trapeze.

Jamal Maraqa, managing director at Pro Technology, said: "In line with our corporate objectives for 2007, we are entering the Libyan market, which is witnessing a remarkable growth in ICT industry with a larger number of home consumers and enterprises using computers and the internet for information and business transactions.

Maraqa continued: "With our comprehensive communication and technology offerings, we are in the best position to answer the demands of this emerging market."

Pro Technology marked its arrival in Libya by exhibiting at last month's five-day TAQNYA 2007 ICT exhibition in Tripoli.

The company used the event - which drew attendance from various business sectors and other service providers - to establish important contacts in the Libyan market.

"As an influential event in the Libyan ICT industry, TAQNYA 2007 is a powerful platform for us to highlight our revolutionary product portfolio as well as boost our recent expansion into the Libyan market," said Adel Shetaw, managing director of Pro Technology's new Libyan branch.

In addition to Libya, Pro Technology boasts subsidiaries in Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, the UAE and Iran.
