Distribution house Anixter has officially opened its US$3 million Middle East headquarters in Dubai.

The Jebel Ali-based facility - inaugurated by Anixter executive VP Bob Eck and Ibrahim Al Janahi, senior VP at JAFZA (pictured) - houses a custom-built warehouse which the company will use to serve the region. Anixter distributes a broad range of communication, electronic and cabling components to OEMs.

Anixter has a long association with the Middle East having initially opened an office in the region 10 years ago. It claims the relocation to the new 10,000 square metre warehouse and distribution centre is further evidence of its desire to serve local customers.

"The region has seen phenomenal growth and investment," said Mike Smith, VP sales for wire and cable at Anixter. "We are committed to working with our regional partners across the Middle East, supported by an extensive on-hand, local inventory. Anixter also provides local training and technical expertise," he added.
