Redington is preparing to take advantage of its recent tie-up with HP ProCurve in the UAE by launching a training initiative focused on combining ProCurve and Sonicwall technologies.

Redington is preparing to take advantage of its recent tie-up with HP ProCurve in the UAE by launching a training initiative focused on combining ProCurve and Sonicwall technologies.

To reinforce its view that ProCurve and Sonicwall are complementary brands, Redington has already held a formal launch event for local resellers and begun one-on-one ProCurve training as part of a scheme it has rolled out.

"It's going to be a programme where we train people on configurated tools and how to position this product vis-à-vis competition," said Ashish Dhar, business development manager at Redington Gulf. "We'll run lead generation programmes and explain how to work closely with the value division in Redington to maximise the number of opportunities that come onto the table."

Redington - which already carries ProCurve in KSA - claims the scheme is aimed at partners who are willing to embrace this technology area, claiming they stand to benefit in the long term. "ProCurve forms part of our strategy to provide end-to-end solutions - Avaya, Sonicwall and HP ProCurve have been a good combination in Saudi Arabia and we hope to do a similar thing in the UAE," said Dhar.
