Regional Hyperion distributor HSME and UK-based Paragon Consulting Group have formed a joint venture firm in the Middle East.

The new entity, named Paragon Consulting Middle East (PCME), will provide performance management solutions, consultancy and implementation services to organisations in the region.

PCME is understood to be one of the first BPM consultancies to set up in the Middle East as the market for this type of software consultancy tends to be served by firms from outside the region, which fly in their specialists.

"With the Middle East market quickly starting to realise the importance of business performance management, we at HSME realised the need to identify and ally ourselves with a leading organisation in the BPM space that has the domain knowledge and the implementation expertise to address the growing market needs," claimed George Khouri, managing director at UAE-based HSME.

The JV company plans to offer customers specialised consultancy and implementation services in areas such as financial consolidation, planning and forecasting, and budgeting.

HSME claims the combination of its reach and partner network with Paragon's resources and BPM expertise creates a firm capable of meeting the needs of enterprises that are seeking to implement BPM solutions across a multinational workforce.

The pair will initially focus on the Gulf with a view to expanding elsewhere in the Middle East and the Indian sub-continent.

HSME and Paragon already share a connection through their relationship with BPM software outfit Hyperion, which was recently acquired for US$3.3 billion by Oracle.

HSME is Hyperion's sole representative in the Middle East while Paragon counts on the vendor as one of its largest implementation partners in Europe.
