Consumer electronics vendor BenQ has hired Bahraini technology distributor iPoint to market its range of LCD TVs, monitors and projectors in the Kingdom.

The vendor claims iPoint's strong local presence and market expertise will enable it to aggressively tap into Bahrain's growing demand for consumer electronics.

"Bahrain is a priority market for BenQ and we continue to invest in strategic resources required to build upon our position as a preferred brand and market leader," explained Manish Bakshi, general manager MEA at BenQ. "To complement our expansion plans, we were looking for a partner who could help boost our market presence and drive sales across the Kingdom. We decided to partner with iPoint because they met our criteria for a local distributor with a strong retail presence across the Kingdom, while providing high-standard services to our customers."

BenQ claims it has now captured 14% of the regional projector segment, 18% of the LCD monitor market. It also controls almost 10% of the LCD TV market.

The vendor also cites research showing that its brand holds the third position in both the MENA projector segment and the LCD monitor market.

Robert Dung, managing director MEA at Taiwan-based BenQ, commented: "We aim to become the most preferred and profitable brand in Bahrain's consumer electronics segment and we are confident of reaching this mark through our relationship with both our partners such as iPoint and our growing customer base."
