Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) has completed the first phase of a project to integrate its communications, business process management (BPM) and workflow automation systems, it announced today.

The bank is installing an intranet suite called IntelliEnterprise, which includes enterprise portal, content and document management, collaboration, dashboards, and workflow modules.

Helping DIB with the installation process is Dubai-based systems integrator Scope Information Systems, exclusive distributor of IntellEnterprise in the Middle East.

The initial phase covered five of the bank’s 25 departments, including the central operations department (COD), human resources, marketing, IT and administration.

The second phase will cover the bank’s treasury department in addition to the remaining ten departments and focus on the BPM and workflow automation procedures.

“By launching the Intranet system we aim to reduce the pressure placed on our internal network by streamlining all internal communications, mostly in the form of emails, into one integrated, easily accessible portal,” said Musabbah AlQaizi, senior vice president of DIB’s IT department.

“Employees will now be able to view internal corporate news, collaborate more effectively with team members and keep updated on projects relevant to their departments on a continuous basis,” he added.

IntelliEnterprise runs within DIB’s network on two Microsoft servers with SQL database on the backend. The system supports also Arabic language functionality.
