Xpress Telecommunications has completed the first phase of a project to expand its network across Jordan.

The mobile service provider said last week it had constructed 20 cell sites, covering key areas in the country.

Locations for the sites include Jordan's Tala Bay resort and residential community, Aqaba Airport, Al Wihdat in Eastern Amman, Al Nasser Square, Al Qweismeh, Naour, Marj Al Hamam, Al Mahata, Sweifieh and Al Duweik, in addition to Eastern Jordan, Northern Badia, Al Karama Jordanian-Iraqi borders and the Jordanian-Saudi borders.

"Our total aim is to provide optimum business communication solutions, therefore providing the best of results to our growing customer base," said Marwan Jumaa', CEO of Xpress.

The telco offers solutions based on the Integrated Digital Enhanced Network (iDEN) technology, which combines ordinary mobile phones with the Direct Connect (walkie-talkie) services.
