Brother Gulf has increased staff numbers in the region to help it meet tough targets set by its parent company.

The printing specialist has added half a dozen positions in sales and marketing over its operations in Dubai and Turkey, Ranjit Gurkar, Brother Gulf general manager, told IT Weekly this week.

"We have made the additions primarily to cater to the challenging budgets and targets we have for the future," Gurkar said. Brother Gulf has been set a revenue target of US$70million by 2008 by its Japanese parent Brother International.

Gurkar would not specify how many of the additions were made at its Dubai operation, which employs 26 people.
