The introduction of high-speed digital subscriber line (DSL) services in Lebanon has been delayed  again, sources close to the government said last month.

The service, already delayed several times, was expected to launch last month. But it is now understood it will not launch until the end of May at the earliest. The delay has caused frustration for Lebanon's ISPs.

The latest delay was caused mainly by administrative slowness, Maroun Chammas, executive director of ISP IncoNet Data Management (IDM), claimed. "We thought we were going to be on time but the timelines kept sliding," he said.
