Security specialist SonicWall has enhanced its Enforced Client security suite, including support for Windows Vista.

The enhancement to the vendor's Enforced Client Anti-virus and Anti-spyware version 4.5 will now enable it to act as a barrier against malicious intrusions, and browser protection, provided via McAfee's SiteAdvisor service, stated Shahnawaz Sheikh, Sonic Wall regional sales manager MEA. This protects users from web sites known or suspected to harbour malware.

It operates in conjunction with the company's unified threat management (UTM) appliances and enables users to simply remediate non-compliant systems, without the need for IT intervention.

"Threat management is an around-the-clock necessity for IT administrators, but machine by machine updates drains out existing resources," Sheikh said.

"The endpoint security technology solves the problem by providing automatic enforcement from the gateway firewall to the desktop in a centrally managed solution," he added.
