Batelco is shaking up its regional management structure with a series of changes across the group.

The operator has appointed a new chief financial officer (CFO) and new CEOs for Batelco Jordan and Jordanian mobile operator Umniah, among other changes.

David Clarke has been appointed as group financial officer at Batelco, replacing Chris Gabriel who is leaving the firm. Clarke previously held a senior role at British Telecom (BT), but much of his experience is outside the telecoms industry.

The Bahraini telco, which recently won one of the three fixed-line licences in Saudi Arabia, has appointed Joseph Hanania, formerly general manager of HP Middle East, as CEO of Umniah, and Ihab Hinnawi as CEO of Batelco Jordan. Hinnawi moves to Batelco Jordan from Umniah where he was operations director.

The operator has also shifted Abdulwahed Zainal, former general manager of its business division, to a new role heading up its customer process improvement team.
