Following its launch last year, Gulfcomms will again run alongside the Gitex trade show, organisers said.

"As those in the Gulf markets' telecommunications sectors continue or prepare for the process of liberalisation, Gulfcomms is ideally placed to give both new and existing players the right platform from which to really reap the most benefit from these opportunities," stated Helal Saeed Al Marri, director general of Dubai World Trade Centre.

Gulfcomms, which will once again be located in Zabeel Hall at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC), will showcase the latest in telecoms, networks, mobile communications and applications, next generation networks (NGN), internet protocol (IP) technology, satellite communications and voice over IP (VoIP) technology.

Last year's inaugural Gulfcomms attracted close to 28,000 attendees, with 337 companies from 49 countries exhibiting at the event.
