Voice over internet protocol (VoIP) carrier Xplorium has signed a deal with NexTone to expand its network.

Under the terms of the agreement, announced last week, Lebanon-headquartered Xplorium will base its next-generation network (NGN) on NexTone's IntelliConnect System.

Through its regional reseller Verscom, US communications solution provider Nextone will deploy the technology, as well as supply architectural design, integration, training and post-sale support services.

Xplorium said it was transforming its network with NexTone's session management technologies to expand its services geographically and strengthen its core business.

"The IntelliConnect System addresses our need for a flexible, advanced, IMS-ready, and cost-effective network core that provides us the leverage to bundle several IP multimedia and mobile services into one comprehensive offering," Suheil Zurub, general manager of Xplorium, said.
