Antivirus vendor ESET intends to ramp up its presence in the UAE retail sector after striking a partnership with distributor HarVegas, a division of Edutech Middle East.

HarVegas will deliver ESET's NOD 32 solution as a boxed product into retail outlets across the country. HarVegas claims its focus is on delivering ‘edutainment' multimedia products into the Middle East and claims to have developed strong relationships with leading multimedia stores, hypermarkets, book stores and computer outlets in the region.

ESET says it will provide end-user support to HarVegas' customers through its local team and website.

The deal with HarVegas marks the first retail distribution partnership for ESET NOD 32 in the UAE.

"The IT retail segment is very important for us," stressed Neo Neophytou, boss at ESET Distribution. "We were looking for a distributor which could keep up with the growing market demands and also increase our growth rate. HarVegas is a well-established name in the niche multimedia industry segment and has wide access and presence in the IT retail sector. It has built its reputation among customers as an efficient provider of IT and education products."
