SAP Arabia has completed its first SMB implementation, rolling out an enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution for 4Homes, a division of Hoshan Pan Gulf.

Hoshan Pan Gulf has 500 plus employees and offices across the Middle East. The SAP implementation is initially for its 4Homes subsidiary, which supplies household materials and tableware, but the aim is to expand it across the other companies in the group, Pramod Kumar, IT Manager at Hoshan Pan Gulf, told IT Weekly. 4Homes has a workforce of 120 people.

The implementation is based on a specialised pre-packaged solution developed specifically for the Gulf market, mySAP ERP GCC6. SAP's partner Satyam deployed the solution, which will go live next month.

"This is the first phase of the implementation and the rest will be rolled out in the next six to 12 months at our offices spread across Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Africa," Kumar said. "One of the main reasons we took up this implementation was the time period involved, which was only 3 months."

Ghassan Darri, sales director of SAP Arabia, told IT Weekly at a customer event in Dubai this week the firm has also won deals with two other SMB customers in the region, a sector the company is keen to develop its presence in.
