Kit vendor Netgear plans to boost business in Saudi Arabia by strengthening its channel partnerships.

The firm has appointed the Al Rammah International Group as an authorised distributor for its networking products and solutions in the Kingdom.

Ahmad Zeidan, channel sales manager at Netgear, said he hopes the move will give Netgear greater leverage in tapping into the growing Saudi market.

"According to industry reports, Saudi Arabia accounts for almost half of the region's IT spending, which is a sizeable US$2 billion in total sales. The country presents a huge potential for Netgear's networking solutions," he said.

The tie-up with Al Rammah International Group has already proved beneficial, Zeidan added, resulting in higher than expected demand during the recent Saudi Gitex exhibition.

"As Saudi Arabia gears up for massive IT infrastructure improvements, our company is set to capture a wide portion of the IT market in the country," he said.
