Kuwait is to pilot a project as part of its e-government initiative that will automate eight ministries' services.

The country's Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour is heading up the three month project, beginning on May 15, which will connect the ministries with each other, as well as with various public authorities and banks to better organise and speed up the delivery of employment services.

The ministries and authorities will be linked into one web site through which companies and sponsors can check and update employee data, which the ministry said would help to correct errors in its records.

"This project will organise the workforce in the private sector," Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Minister of Social Affairs and Labour, told local media last week.
