Network Appliance's recently opened Riyadh office is a positive step towards its commitment to customers and partners in Saudi Arabia, the company said this month.

The vendor is one of several companies to have opened offices in the Kingdom, and NetApp claimed the office, which opened in March, gave customers the chance to optimise the returns on their infrastructure investment through the implementation and delivery of value-added software and services.

The company said it believed the physical presence the office gave it in the biggest single market in the Middle East would enable it to better serve the storage and data management needs of enterprise customers in the country.

Headed by managing director Sulaiman Al Assaf, the Saudi Arabian team reports directly to Martyn Molnar, NetApp regional area director for MENA.

"We are very excited about this new office in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. By opening up an office here, we are further increasing our commitment to local customers and partners," said Molnar. "We believe that a permanent local presence is vital in enabling us to effectively serve and meet the challenging demands of data-intensive industries."
