Start-up PC manufacturer Ensyab is planning to produce a range of branded desktop PCs and notebooks that will be sold throughout the Middle East.

The company, which is setting up an assembly plant in Bahrain, is aiming to position itself as a competitor to A-brand notebook vendors, according to Sultan Al Rakaf, general manager at Ensyab.

In addition to delivering finished PCs, Ensyab also plans to make its mark in the production of internal components such as CPUs, VGA cards, RAM chips, CD-ROM drivers, keyboards, mice and even LCD screens. This production will take place in cooperation with an Indo-Chinese manufacturing partner.

While demand for hardware continues to grow across the region and overall IT spending increases, local manufacturers have had limited success to date carving out a significant brand reputation within the market.

Ensyab attended this year's Gitex Saudi Arabia event, held this week, in an attempt to boost its market presence.

"Ensyab is taking the opportunity of this year's Gitex Saudi Arabia show to spread its name in the region," said Samir Al Luqmani, general manager at Qeyyam Al-Arab, the parent company of Ensyab.
