Symantec has updated its PC restoration and ghosting tools, Norton Save & Restore and Norton Ghost.

Aimed at both Windows Vista and XP users, these applications are designed to help consumers and digital power users ‘spring clean' their PCs by allowing them to easily back-up their valued data.

"Symantec research has shown that 91% of consumers are storing their personal data on their PCs, but 43% of consumers do not back up their data," said Sanjiv Vij, the firm's regional manager for consumer sales across MENA.

"This new version of Norton Save and Restore is the most convenient backup solution available to consumers today," Vij added.

Norton Ghost 12 now includes more technology from Symantec's Backup Exec System Recovery solution for businesses than previously, to create what Symantec claims its Norton's most advanced recovery tool to date.
