Regional retailer the Landmark Group has standardised its messaging environment on IBM Lotus software to improve teamwork across the organisation.

Landmark, which runs chains such as Babyshop, Centrepoint and Shoe Mart, said this week it had consolidated and unified its messaging system across operations in the GCC, India and Jordan on Lotus Notes and Domino in order to meet the group's communication requirements as it continued to expand.

"Landmark focuses on expansion and we tend to open new stores very frequently and hence require our employees to be up to date and alert all the time," said Kirit Shah, CIO of Landmark.

"IBM's software not only allows our staff to stay in tune with the latest happenings, but also allows them to work more closely with one another," Shah added.

IBM said the implementation, carried out by regional partner MultiMission, provided a secure and reliable platform that would improve teamwork, responsiveness and productivity.

"With IBM's cost effective solution, Landmark will have a high performance work environment," commented Bashar Kilani, IBM software group manager for the Middle East, Egypt and Pakistan.
