The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) is implementing Oracle's E-Business Suite Human Resource Management System (HRMS) to provide it with a single view of all staff data.

Under the agreement, announced last week, the bank is rolling out the Payroll, Time and Labour, Human Resources (HR), Daily Business Intelligence for HR, Self Service HR, and Learning Management modules of HRMS.

The implementation will give CBE a single integrated data model of HR-related activities at the bank, where previously employee information, such as appraisals, salaries and training records, was stored separately.

The bank said managing HR operations from a single management tool was "of critical importance".

"As there was no single repository in place for crucial employee data, the valuation process became complicated and almost impossible, considering our large number of employees," said Tarek Raouf, sub. Governor of CBE.

Raouf said the data processed by the system would be "invaluable" when creating reports for senior management.

"We will gain an insight into the actual working of the enterprise and what processes might need to be changing or adjustments," he added.
