Trend Micro has launched a Network Access Control (NAC) product for automated policy enforcement.

The vendor claimed its Network VirusWall Enforcer was unique in that it integrated all aspects of NAC, with anti-worm capabilities, into one appliance.

The solution, which will be available globally from mid-April, scans devices for security software, critical patches and current updates.

The appliance works without end-user intervention, evaluating the security profile of networked devices and then administering security policies automatically.

Trend Micro said the tool reduced administrative burden and increased user productivity through automation of the entire NAC flow.

The firm said the integrated plug-and-protect appliance was ideal for enterprises that had multiple network segments and mixed Windows environments.

Trend Micro said Network VirusWall Enforcer also complemented its enterprise protection strategy.
