Electronics giant LG is to integrate software from Google on its mobile phones, the firms said last week.

From the beginning of next month, select handsets from LG pre-installed with applications such as Google Maps, Gmail and Blogger Mobile - an application to upload images and text to blog from mobile devices.

"Building on our efforts to set new standards for wireless handsets, we are excited to partner with Google to offer extra value to consumers with enhanced mobile internet experiences," said Ki Wan Kim, MEA president of LG Electronics. "LG's mobile devices, combined with Google, will provide consumers with easy access to their favourite web services."

LG said the agreement with Google was the start of an ongoing partnership, which would see at least ten LG handsets released this year featuring Google products and services. It said the two companies would also be collaborating on solutions for the home in the future.
